Use cases

Practical guides for getting more out of the books and documents you already have — what each approach can do, how to set it up, and where its limits are.

These pages are organised around a task rather than a menu item: studying a textbook, checking what a report actually says, keeping up with a long series. Each one links to the user guide for step-by-step details.

Athena does three things. Read: EPUB, PDF and a dozen other formats, offline, with progress stored as an exact position inside the chapter so it survives a new device or a different font size. Listen: read-aloud with the device’s own speech engine by default — free, offline, with sentence highlighting in EPUBs. Ask: questions about one item, a shelf or the whole library, with answers that cite the passage. Each page below covers one concrete way to use them.
